During the weekend, I set out to inspect the level of the ongoing road constructions in Aba area, especially, the recently kick-started construction of Port-Harcourt road, but my priority swung into a different direction after my meeting with a notable business tycoon who shared some pictures with me – the pictures of Old Express (SEMEC) / MCC road before the commencement of the ongoing construction. This triggered my decision to go and see things for myself.
Trekking along the road, from the end side of Dr. Chima Nwafor road to the point of construction, I noticed that the massive construction work on the road is really attracting so many positive reactions from the residence along the road and others who ply it on daily basis.
The road serves a major link from Aba-Owerri road to Ariaria International Market, criss-crossing through Fulks road to Port-Harcourt road, Aba.
The residents of Aba, particularly those residing or doing business in the area and environs has commended Governor Ikpeazu’s commitment to rehabilitating the long-abandoned dilapidated road.
As it is always said, “A problem known is half solved.” Let’s keep hope alive; the glory of Aba will certainly be restored.
