Recently, the Governor of Abia State and the Central Campaign Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party led by the Director General, Elder John Nwamgborogwu, OKEZUOBIA CAMPAIGN in collaboration with the amiable State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Johnson Onuigbo and entire PDP family kicked off the PDP Campaign in the State.
The essence of the campaign is to draw the attention of Abia electorates to what the Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has done in the past three years plus and what he desires to offer to the good people of Abia State in the remaining four years and the growing need to re-elect him and vote for other PDP candidates in the State including the incoming President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
It is in line with these objectives that the women’s wing of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State led by the Wife of the Governor kicked off her campaign round the State to equally solicit votes from the electorates for those who are contesting for positions under the umbrella of the PDP.
In the pursuit of these, the wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, has led the campaign trail for the re-election of Governor Ikpeazu and other PDP candidates to Ohafia LGA and then Isuikwuato Local Governnent Area. In both Council Areas, Mrs. Ikpeazu stressed that, it is important to re-elect the Incumbent Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, Ph.D, to consolidate on his ideas of taking Abia State to greater heights. She went ahead to appeal to the general public to be civil and conduct themselves peacefully during the election, assuring that Governor Ikpeazu is poised to carry Abia women along.
It is imperative to point out that, in their separate speeches and contributions at the rally, the Coordinator, PDP Central Working Committee, Dr. Elizabeth Esochaghi, the wife of former Abia Governor Mrs. Odochi Orji, former PDP state party chairman, Senator Emma Nwaka, and PDP flag bearer for Isuikwuato /Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Chief Jude Udeachara affirmed that the All Progressive Congress as a party has dashed the hope of Nigerians for a great country, saying that, that is why they came to solicit the electorates to vote for PDP to change the status quo. The speakers noted that PDP is the only party that would bring the needed positive change, Abia and Nigerians are yearning for. They agreed that the campaign for the re-election of Governor Ikpeazu is one based on his pedigree as a performing Governor, also to maintain the Abia chatter of equity which allows power rotation from Abia North to Abia Central and then to Abia South.
It is glaring that, despite the disruptive years of Ikpeazu led governance due to court cases, that the Governor has performed well and even beyond expectations and so needs this second term to consolidate on his projects and other developmental strides going on in the State. Of course, Dr. Ikpeazu had proven to Abia people that he can lead them continually. That is why he has performed excellently in line with his five pillars of development and their enablers which includes; agriculture, infrastructure, trade & commerce, education, SME, health, environment, security etc.
Good a thing, the Governor’s wife earlier paid courtesy visit to Isuikwuato Council of Traditional Rulers led by His Royal Highness, Eze Charles Onuoha, who affirmed the re-election bid of Governor Ikpeazu with promise that Isuikwuato people are solidly behind the re-election of the Governor.
What else does one need to hear?
All Abia people and residents are in agreement that Governor Ikpeazu remain in Government House. To achieve this, everyone is expected to keep his PVC intact and vote him again.
