It is gladdening that Abians have not been relenting in giving our dear Governor Okezie Ikpeazu their unalloyed support. And it is also gratifying that our Governor is focused, determined and poised to write his name in ‘GOLD’ as the father of modern Abia, not deterred by the antics and swerving of lions in sheep’s clothing who want to derail the noble objectives of the people’s Governor through protracted legal battle.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has proved his mettle in governance through his pro-people policies and projects that has positively touched the lives of all strata of Abians. The far reaching reforms and reconstructions, strengthening of our democratic institutions in Abia State are tilted to turning the battered fortunes of our state which suffered locust years caused by inept past leaders.

ON CORRUPTION:
On assumption of office, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu underscored that his administration will operate a zero tolerance  on corruption which shall be tailored on transparency, integrity and accountability.

In order to get rid of the cankerworms in Abia State civil service which has eaten deep into the State coffers, Abia State went into biometric capturing of Abia State civil servants. This rubbed off in saving a whooping sum of above #600, 000, 000 million.  The said ghost workers presented themselves in different forms. While some were padding their salaries and wages through the assistance of some of their accomplices, others had their names with bank details in different MDAs. Some also allotted to themselves certain benefits that were ordinarily not in the basket of their payment.

Some over-aged workers presented as saints in 20s while others presented fake certificates which they had used in the travesties of defrauding Abia State.

Furthermore, as an agency empowered by law to mitigate against sharp practices in government contracts and procurement, the Due Process office, under the auspices of Hon. Kalu Uduma, has within this period, saved above the sum of N1,019,409,906.92 (One Billion and Nineteen Million, Four Hundred and Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred and Six Naira, Ninety Two Kobo) from inflated contracts.

ON CRIME & INSECURITY:
Compare to contiguous states, Abia State has been enjoying relative peace and remains the safest state in the region at the moment.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration, working in accordance with Security Agencies in the state has substantially reduced the capabilities of criminal elements to operate in the state thereby ensuring a peaceful Abia State.

More so, Abia government had also procured several number of vehicles of different configurations and has distributed same to various Security Agencies in the State.

INFRASTRUCTURAL REVOLUTION:
In the sphere of infrastructural upgrade, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu who recognized the daunting task facing his administration as a result of poor infrastructure he inherited, did not waste time to embark on massive road constructions and rehabilitations across the length and breathe of Abia State and glaringly, about 35 roads have been completed within a short while he took the baton of leadership.

Admirably, this result driven administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has started work on Ukwu Mango/Ariaria/Faulks/Brass road which before now was a nightmare to both motorists and general road users. It is no gainsaying that this singular road project will be a catalyst to the commercial exploits of Ariaria International Market and Aba in general. Not neglecting the different ongoing road projects in the 17 local government councils of Abia State.

Thumbs up to our ebullient and visionary Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, for the milestones achieved so far in this very important sector of our state.

POVERTY REDUCTION:
The major critical challenges holding our nation to jugular is widespread poverty, which have seemed intractable to previous government both at the state and national level. It is heart warming and praise worthy that in our dear state, Abia, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has taken the bull by the horn by teaching the people how to fish rather than giving them fish.

One of such widely appraised and welcomed programmes of this nascent administration of Governor Ikpeazu is the Education for Employment (E4E) initiative. Scores of Abia youths have understudied many skills and vocations via this noble project.

It is important to note that before the Federal Government started nursing the idea of feeding school children, the Governor Ikpeazu administration, through the office of the Wife of the Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, has launched Free School Feeding Programme well tailored and composed to curb mal-nutrition, in addition to distribution of free school sandals and bags (all Made-In-Aba) to pupils in the public schools.

Furthermore, Governor Ikpeazu, since assumption of office, has prioritized the promotion of our home made products. Visibly, Aba made shoes and garments have received national and intentional boost. For instance, the Nigerian Army has purchased thousands of Made-In-Aba foot wears among others. This invariably places those local producers on international market window.

Conclusively, it is a clarion call for all Abians to increase the tempo of their support, re-ignite the spirit of patriotism to the Government of the day which are certainly essential ingredients to ensuring uninterrupted democratic dividends.
