The remains of late Elder Chukwuemeka Paul Nwadiukor (1949-2019), has been laid to rest at his home town, Obete Ibeme by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Aba East Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Abia State.
In his sermon at the burial service, President, Aba East Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Pastor O. T. Opara who preached on the Topic: ‘There is hope for those who sleep in Jesus,’ disclosed that for those who died in the Lord, there is hope of life beyond the grave.
Pastor Opara described death as a mystery the is beyond human comprehension noting that the age, place or time of death of any human matter less but that what matters most was in whom one dies.
He called on Christians to strive to live a meaningful life in Christ so as to have any hope of resurrection when Christ shall come.
In a funeral oration, the eldest son of the family, Mr. Chinazaekpere Nwadiukor likened his late father’s kindness to a candle that burns itself to give others light.
According to him “As testified by his close associates, he was an avid reader of spirit of prophecy books and Bible, a writer, a great mentor, a selfless giver, a spiritual superman, a fearless preacher of the true gospel, whose life was an impactful sermon, a peacemaker. His resume can go endless with unmatched heavenly qualities, above all a sealed heavenly candidate by the grace of God.”
He noted that his late father was a sincere man to a fault, maintaining that he lived a life that was not conventional to that of an average businessman. Mr Nwadiukor said that the family has taken consolation in the fact that their late father lived a christian filled life and has been registered as a heavenly candidate.
In an interview at the graveside, the first daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Juanita Chidinma Nwankpa, described his late father as her rock and confidant insisting that part of her died with the death of her father.
She said the father trained her in the ways of the Lord as well as taught her to live a straight-forward life was industrious and being lazy was never part of my father’s dictionary
“One thing about my was that he knew that I hadly eat, my father took it as a duty to me every 1o’ clock to remind me to eat, he used to call from Nigeria regardless of the time difference between us. Since he died, I have gone back to my non-eating habit because nobody to always call to remind me to go and eat.” She said.
Mrs Nwankpa identified hard work, truthfulness, trustworthiness and sincerity as the qualities that defined his late father’s life.
Others who spoke at the burial ceremony extolled the extra human qualities of the late Elder of the Seventh Day Adventist.
Elder Israel Onuoha Nwadiukor
Elder Ekpo of Aba Sand and Gravel Dealers said that Elder CP, as he was fondly called as one of the five man trustees of their association left a clean record who also made straight forward and honesty his watchword.
Pastor Rowland Nwosu, testifying on behalf of the Church at Aba, described the deceased as an excellent evangelist with selflessness. He disclosed that God used by God the late Elder to bring revival to the Eastern Nigeria Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Also speaking, Elder Odichi Job who spoke on behalf of the church said Elder P. C. Nwadiukor was not only a role model but also a mentor to the younger generation who trained many in the evangelism.
