A new School, Wellspring Preparatory School has officially been opened in Umuahia, the Abia State capital with a promise to be the leader in the total upbringing of children.

In her remarks, the Proprietress of the school, Mrs Ebere James Jonathan said the official opening marks the birth of a new era as the dream conceived in the mind and vision designed on paper have become a reality.

According to her, the vision was carefully executed with the aim of providing the best education available not only in Nigeria but that which will stand shoulder to shoulder with the best institutions in the world.

Mrs Jonathan said: “This can be seen in our well planned structure, our trained teachers, beautiful and stimulating environment that aid learning in young children and the need to nurture our young minds to make them become the best versions of themselves.”

She expressed appreciation to parents for entrusting their children and wards in their hands and boasted that The journey has just begun and it’s definitely going to be a fulfilling one maintainig that, “We are indeed city takers.”

Also speaking the Team Leader and Consultant to the school, Mrs Vivian Davids revealed that Wellspring Preparatory School was established to solve the yearning needs of the 21st century schools.

Mrs Davids who regretted that a lot of shabby schools are everywhere because people don’t know what it means to run a school noted that the difference between Wellspring and others was the fact that the Proprietors applied ‘intentionality’ in the opening a school.

She said the school was one where the owners understand international and built a school with exceptional standard with well qualified and experienced teachers.

On his part, the Head of school Mr. Kiduna Gotom disclosed that the school was concerned about individuals as it does not looking at a classroom where a group of children are being taught in the same way.

“Wellspring has structured its curriculum to meet the aspiring needs of all the little ones that are here with us. All the teachers have been trained already, they know what to do; so your children are in safe hands,” he said.

He added: “At Wellspring, we try to make our instructions child specific because we observed that children have different needs and our lessons are differentiated. Our teaching is cross curricular, in the sense that we connect knowledge with what they know in real time.”

On the method of teaching and learning, Mr. Gotom said the school ensures there is a connect to teach children holistically stressing that the environment is stimulated to aid children who learn unconsciously.

He further informed that while also guiding them towards learning they have provided an online platform to enable teaching and learning to continue at home in event that they are forced to stay at home just like the Covid-19 pandemic period.

Cutting the tape to mark the official opening of Wellspring Preparatory School, the Business Development Manager, First Bank Umuahia, Mr. Otu Effiwatt commended the Proprietors for their foresightedness in establishing a school with such enviable standard on a large and vast land and called on parents to register their children.

Some of the parents who spoke to ABIA ONLINE said they choose the school because they are convinced that it would bring out the best in the early upbringing of their children.
