SENATOR OBANIKORO’S REVELATION…

ABIA PDP DEMANDS EXPLANATIONS FROM ALEX OTTI

The Abia State PDP Central Campaign Council has noted with deep and grave concern, the revelations made at a Lagos High Court by a former Minister of State, Defence, Senator Musuliu Obanikoro against Mr. Alex Otti, the APGA Governorship Candidate in Abia State.

Senator Obanikoro who is a member of the APC told the Lagos High Court that he verbally instructed Otti to authorize the withdrawal of the sum of 1.2 Billion Naira from the account of a Company, Slyvan McNamara Ltd, an instruction that Otti carried out.
The Senator admitted that he was not a signatory to the said account and that no form of documentation was done in respect of the transaction.

While it is not the business of our party to pry into the internal workings of banks, the Abia PDP Campaign Council is worried that such allegation of brazen regulatory malfeasance and financial recklessness is leveled in open Court against a man who seeks to be Governor of Abia State.

The general public will agree that the allegation is a very serious one touching at the very foundations of the competence and integrity of Alex Otti in the management of funds entrusted into his care, especially at a time when Diamond Bank which was the last known place Otti worked and the only bank he headed has gone down, waiting for final burial rites in the next few months.

We therefore demand that Mr. Otti should, as a matter of urgency, respond to this damning allegation and explain in detail, his role in this massive financial mess.

It is even the more disturbing that this allegation is coming few weeks to the Governorship Election in Abia State when the good people of Abia State will decide who will run the affairs of their state for the next four years.

Neither the PDP nor the Abia State Government is a party to this case. The man who made this allegation is a member of the APC and a prosecution witness called by the Federal Government.

If Alex Otti fails or neglects to defend himself within the next 24 hours, we will conclude that the allegations are true and by that token, Otti would have lost any moral claims to being a candidate for the exalted office of Governor who will superintend over the resources of Abia State.

The people of Abia State cannot entrust their state into the hands of a man who has no regard for clear regulatory stipulations.

If Senator Obanikoro lied against Otti, he should say so in public and take appropriate legal steps to get Obanikoro to pay for his lies.

ALEX OTTI, SPEAK NOW!
