Abia assures local entrepreneur of assistance
Abia State Deputy Governor, sir Ude Oko Chukwu has commended the traditional ruler of Nkwebi autonomous community in Ohafia LGA for heeding to the clarion call of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu by investing in the State.
Sir Oko Chukwu who made the commendation when he visited the and inspected facilities at EFB Industries Limited, an agro establishment owned by the traditional ruler of Nkwebi autonomous community in Ohafia LGA noted that the investment will not only provide employment opportunities for the teeming youths, but keep them away from crimes in addition to developing the State.
The Deputy Governor expressed satisfaction at the level of facilities in the farm and assured the Chairman of EFB Industries Limited that the state will partner with him by addressing some of the bottlenecks confronting the farm settlement like bad road network, electricity and procurement of loans by liaising with relevant bodies like the Central Bank Of Nigeria, Bank Of Industry and Bank Of Agriculture.
He used the visit to appreciate the people of Nkwebi Ohafia for their massive support to the PDP during the last general elections which led to overwhelming success recorded across the state and urged them not to relent in their loyalty as the present administration will carry them along in the provision of basic amenities and other democracy dividends.
In their remarks, the Chairman Of EFB Industries Limited and traditional ruler of Nkwebi autonomous community, Eze Igwe Ojike and its Managing Director, Enyidia Uwa Ojike who disclosed that the farm established in 1993 engage in several agricultural projects with modern equipment that will help process palm products and called for assistance in securing loans from government and provision of good road network.
They commended the State Government for its efforts in sustaining the economy through agriculture revolution and urged the Federal government to realign its priority by looking favourable towards the resuscitation and increase in palm oil production rather than over dependence in petroleum products.
