MY ADMINISTRATION IS READY TO MAKE SACRIFICES TO ACHIEVE ENYIMBA ECONOMIC CITY – GOV IKPEAZU
In line with his resolve to actualize the Enyimba Economic City, Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has stated that his administration is ready to make sacrifices that would ensure the actualization of the Enyimba Economic City.
The Governor stated this while speaking at the 4th South East Economic Summit with the theme “Financing South East Economic Development and improving Ease of Doing Business” held at the Base Event Centre, lndependent layout, Enugu, Enugu State. He made it clear that the Enyimba Economic City is going to provide over 700 thousand direct job opportunities for the teeming youths and develop the South East.
The Governor, who spoke through his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, said his administration has done so much to change the narratives of business I. Abia State. He explained that, in a bid to power the ease of doing business in the State, he established the one stop shop situated at the Abia Investment House, Ogurube Layout, Umuahia, where every ministry is represented to attend promptly to the needs of investors.
The Governor who described the summit as very apt recognizing the fact that the best way to move the infrastructure is through private public partnership and informed that proactive measures have been taken to quell the farmers/herdsmen crisis as well as provide adequate security for residents in the State.
Speaking also, the Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Umahi represented by his Deputy, Chief Kelechi lgwe lauded the South East Region Economic Development company (SEREDEC) for encouraging ease of doing business in the region.
Making a presentation, the Abia State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe revealed that Abia State is one of the five States that World Bank rated 1st in the Ease of Doing Business which was made possible as a result of the removal of all bottlenecks hindering ease of doing business.
The Commissioner stated that in trying to boost the State’s economy, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu became the chief promoter of made in Abia products through the concept of branding every product manufactured by Aba artisans “made in Enyimba in addition to a consolidated revenue drive devoid of harassment from agents.
The Chief Executive Officer of Enyimba Economic city, Mr Darl Uzu, used the summit to present updates on the Enyimba Economic City while the summit attracted the presence of dignitaries, including; Chief Chinenye Nwogu, Mrs Joy Acho Nwakanma and Chief FC Udensi, among others.
