ABIRI: IKPEAZU HAS SURPASSED HIS PREDECESSORS WITHOUT MAKING A NOISE ABOUT IT
The General Manager, Abia State Passengers Integrated Manifest and Safety Scheme (ASPIMSS) Chief Ezinwa Nkire Abiri, has said that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has surpassed his predecessors in office in the delivery of quality leadership and development of the State without making a noise about it.
Chief Abiri, who spoke recently in an exclusive interview with ABIA ONLINE in his office in Umuahia, described Ikpeazu as the most peaceful Governor whose peaceful disposition has turned Abia into the most peaceful State East of the Niger.
“Abia State has remained the safest place to be at least in the South East and that is because the Governor is a God given Governor. If you can take your mind back to those days when there were rancour and bitterness in the State. Ikpeazu is not that kind of person, he is a peace loving Governor. That is why you will never hear him say ‘get out,’ he’s not abusive, he radiates peace everywhere he goes, He talks peace everywhere and whatever he touches turns peace,” he said.
He noted that the spate of kidnapping in the State has drastically reduced while Abia State has never witnessed any form of political killing since Ikpeazu assumed office as Governor. Abiri maintained that Ikpeazu’s peaceful disposition is the reason we enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in the State.
The General Manager, who emphatically described Ikpeazu a success did not mince words when he declared, “In his developmental strides, he has surpassed those before him without making a noise about it. He doesn’t brag nor boast. I was surprised the other day when I went to a neighboring community in Rivers State, Omuma LGA, from Uratta down there he’s building a road there, I was surprised to see that he’s doing a road project there and nobody is making a noise it. Such things are replete everywhere the State.”
Speaking about the Governor’s achievements in the health sector, the GM mentioned the TeleHealth Initiative, otherwise known as Dial-a-Doctor Initiative, where you can dial a doctor in the comfort of your home to receive medical attention, as the first of its kind in the Country. He disclosed that all the health centers in the State are now in good working condition, as a result of the policy thrust of Government in that regard.
“Even the erstwhile moribund health facility in Aba, has been given facelift, he’s been given them financial assistance, donating hospital equipment, even drugs to them. Without much ado, Ikpeazu is doing great in the health sector,” he affirmed.
The ASPIMSS boss used to opportunity to thank Governor Ikpeazu for finding him worthy of heading the establishment, called on him to come to the aid of the Agency through direct financial aid.
He equally solicited the assistance of the State Governor as well as the partnership of the public sector through donation of ambulances, medical equipment, beds first aid boxes, among other things in order to realize the Trauma Centre of the Agency, which he described as a semi hospital.
