Igbere born business mogul and entrepreneur, Dr Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso has been elected President of the Umu Aba Connect Association.
Speaking in an acceptance speech, Dr. Anyaso said he would not be too excited about his emergence in order not to lose sight of the enormity of the responsibilities thrusted upon him by virtue of electoral success.
He disclosed that his emergence has ushered the Association into a path to unprecedented greatness and a new order describing his victory as collective even for those who contested against him.
“We are at a crucial point in our existence as an Association, a point where poverty, unemployment, underdevelopment and poor governance pervades every sphere of our national life; how we respond to these ills will forever be indelible in the minds of our people,” he said.
Dr. Anyaso who reiterated his preparedness for the office, reassured members of the association of unfettered access to the benefits of membership.
According to him: “My manifesto was documented not only to show you how prepared I was but also to serve as a scorecard for me as I assume office and I will be held accountable for the fulfillment of the promises contained therein.”
