A former Commissioner in Abia State and elder statesman, Elder Godwin Nna said the investor, Zoros Energy Nigeria Limited is committed to realizing the Seaport project that would be sited at Obeaku-Ndoki in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State.
Elder Nna gave the hint when he led a delegation of the investor on a visit to the Traditional Ruler of Obeaku Autonomous Community, Eze Ikeagwuchi Ekeke.
He noted that agreement has been reached with the State Government for the transfer of ownership of the Seaport project to Zoros Energy Nig Ltd, adding that arrangements have been concluded to commence work on the project.
Elder Nna, who is an intermediary between the investor, State Government and the community, told the Traditional Ruler that they seek the corporation of Obeaku Community towards the realization of the project and solicited the support of the Eze-in-council for the success of the Seaport project.
He said the main essence of their visit was to chart the way forward for the project by finding a common ground between the Government, host Community and the investor, informing that work would commence as soon as the agreement was reached.
Speaking also, the Chief Executive Officer of Zoros Energy Nigeria Limited, who is in charge of the investor company’s investment portfolio in Africa, Eze Ikenna Nwaigwe, assured that the Investor was determined more than ever before to realize the Seaport project and complete it in a record time.
Eze Nwigwe revealed that when completed, the project would create massive employment for the youths as well bring about massive development for the host Community.
He called for the support and cooperation of the Eze-in-council and the entire host Community for the successful actualization of the project and sued for peace and harmony among all the interest groups.
Responding, the Traditional Ruler of Obeaku Autonomous Community, Eze Ikeagwuchi Ekeke, who maintained his Community was not making an outright sale of the lands, told them that all his Community crave for is equity participation to enable their unborn children benefit from the project.
Eze Nwigwe, while thanking them for the visit, insisted that his Community must be carried along in everything involving the Seaport project and that they would want to see the value in that which was given them as their eternal inheritance.
ABIA ONLINE gathered that the highlight of the visit, which has its delegation drawn from among prominent members of the Obeaku Community, was a visit to the site of the proposed Seaport project, which is the Azumini blue river.
