ABIA: ALEX OTI AND HIS DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR

ALEX OTI AND HIS DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR
Yesterday at the APGA Secretariat Umuahia, Mr. Chidi Onyeukwu Ajaegbu formally joined APGA where he seeks to vie for a seat at the Senate to represent the people of Abia Central Senatorial District.
For me, what Dee Chidi, as we fondly call him at home has done is to exercise his right to freedom of political association and I bear him no grudges. Politics is a contest and the field is open for anyone who seeks to participate.
What however caught my attention was the speech made at the event by Alex Oti, APGA’s alter ego who was defeated in the 2015 elections.
According to him, there is no way the PDP will remain in Government House Umuahia beyond May 2019. He went further to say that the Ikpeazu administration has done nothing for the people of Abia State and that his works exist only on social media. According to him, if you open social media, you will see pictures of projects which “exist only in the imagination of the writers”.
After listening to the speech made by Oti yesterday, I became worried. My worry stemmed from the fact that a man who attained a high level position in the corporate world has allowed himself to be so messed up and now speaks like a common street boy, all in a quest for political power. I concluded that Oti has lost it. Completely.
So Alex Oti is ignorant of the works Ikpeazu is doing in Abia State. Though Oti doesn’t live here, what of his men that do? Doesn’t he ask questions?
So Oti thinks that the roads Ikpeazu is doing across the state exist only on social media?
So Faulks Road is only on social media?
Umule?
Umuocham?
Umuatako?
Kamalu?
Oomne?
Owerri Road?
Ochefu?
Weeks Road?
Ukaegbu?
Ebere?
Chima Nwafor?
Ovom?
Obikabia?
Ururuka?
MCC SAMEK?
The five roads long completed around the Ngwa Road area?
The scores of reasphalted roads in Aba town which now makes driving inside Aba town very easy?
What of the IFE OBARA PROJECT?
Is that one existing on social media media too?
What of ongoing projects like Osusu road, Port Harcourt road, Eziukwu- Cemetary Road?
What of the Osisioma Flyover Project which is ongoing?
Let’s roll into Abia North…
What of the NDIOJI NDIOKEREKE Road? A road of 34 kilometers with a bridge spanning 70meters?
What of the Bende Idim Abam Road?
What of the Abiriba Nkporo Road?
What of Nkpa Road?
What of the three road projects in Isuikwuato?
What of Aba Road in Umuahia?
What of the road projects in Agbama Estate?
The four new road projects in Isiala Ngwa North?
What of Isiala Ngwa South?
Is Oti not aware that Ikpeazu has given the people of Ugwunagbo their first tarred road in over four decades?
Obingwa nko?
Has Oti not heard of the Umuaro- Umuanunu- Ekwereazu Ngwa- Nto Edino road which has made it possible to get to Arochukwu from Abia through Ikot Ekpene in one hour?
How many will I count?
If Oti doesn’t see all of these…If he is yet to see the over 300 primary schools being renovated across the state, then he must have serious issues with his sight.
Ok, let me advise Oti to ask his newest party man to tell him how the road to his country home at Umuojima Ogbu, Osisioma Ngwa is now and how it was before Ikpeazu came on board.
I am sure he will tell him that if not for Ikpeazu’s intervention, he would probably would have been hosting meetings outside his house on account of bad road.
Oti should also try and go visit his home, sorry, his homes at Atani Arochukwu and at Nvosi Isiala Ngwa South. He would notice that with the intervention of Ikpeazu, he doesn’t need to fly in helicopters any more. He can now go to Aro with ease using the NDIOJI road or through the new new road from Obingwa to Ikot Ekpene.
Let Oti not wait till election time before going to his adopted home at Nvosi. He would notice that Ikpeazu is doing a road that passes right in front of his house. He can ask his kinsman, Chris Nwagboso to confirm.
Alex Oti should be more bothered about the issues in his party which has led to the massive exodus of its members. From 11 members of the State House of Assembly in May 2015, APGA now has three members.
By the way, who is the authentic State Chairman of APGA?
Who presided over the ceremony of yesterday?
Is it Rev. Ehiemere who was suspended by a faction of the party led by Oti’s former campaign DG, Ahamdi Nweke?
Or is Oti now doubling as the State Chairman?
What of the EFCC case involving a top member of the party who was accused of embezzling close to 100 Million Naira earmarked for setting up party offices across the state?
Has the matter been settled?
How can a man whose party has this kind of challenges be wasting his time talking about a party that is rock solid at all levels and against a Governor who is blazing the trail in infrastructural transformation?
Honestly, I don’t blame Oti. If he says he doesn’t see these projects, he is correct.
The few times he visits, he is usually cocooned in his massive SUVs and with his diminutive height, it will be difficult to have a good view of the outside, except he really has to struggle to stretch his neck. And knowing these big men, they are not cut out for such stress.
By the way, since Oti is hardly aware of anything happening here, who knows if he is aware that Ikpeazu has reopened the good old Aba General Hospital for full medical services and that since Wednesday, they have been offering free medical services to our people and will continue for one full week.
The hospital has been closed down since 2010.
If Oti, with his long CV and fat purse couldn’t defeat Ikpeazu in 2015 when he was just a street sweeper, is it now that he has shown Abians a glimpse of what is to come after he leaves office in 2023 that Oti will beat him?
Alex Oti must be a huge joker.
