The Abia State Executive Council has approved the reconstitution of the Finance and General Purpose Committee (F&GPC) with the following members: Commissioner for Finance, Secretary to State Government, Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice, Commissioner for Works and Commissioner for Budget and Planning.
The approval was made at the meeting of the State Executive Council held at the Exco Chambers of Government House, Umuahia.
According to a release signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the Council directed the Commissioner for Finance to maintain the current practice of paying workers before the 28th of every month.
The release equally stated that the all ministries weee mandated to route agreements through the Ministry of Justice for vetting and approval before execution.
