Abia State Government has announced the demise of a member of State Executive Council and the Honorable Commissioner for Environment, Dr Solomon Ogunji.
The Honorable Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, who made this known in a statement said the late Commissioner died on Saturday, 23rd May, 2020, at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba, after a brief illness related to high blood pressure.
Chief Kalu confirmed that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who received the sad news with shock, had personally communicated and condoled with the family of the bereaved and is currently in mourning.
The statement prayed the Almighty God to give the family of Dr Ogunji the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and for his soul to rest in the bosom of the Lord.
