Stakeholders of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Elders Committee in Abia state have passed a vote of confidence on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu PhD, as leader of the Party in the state as well as on the Chairman of the PDP’s State Working Committee Rt. Hon. Dr Alwell Asiforo Okere.
A communiqué issued at the end of the PDP Elders’ committee on March 31, 2022, in Abia State at the Aguiyi Ironsi Conference Centre, Umuahia, noted that the committee came to the resolution after an in-depth deliberation on the affairs of the PDP in Abia state.
The meeting of the Elders Committee as constituted by Articles 23(1) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), elected and affirmed the election of Chief (Sir) Tony Ukasanya as Chairman of the Committee and Chief Emma Ibegbulam as Secretary.
According to the communiqué, “The Committee affirms and supports wholly the decision on zoning of the Governorship of Abia State in 2023 and other ancillary decisions by the State Working Committee and the State Executive Committee of the Party.
It further stated that members with any issues or concerns about the decisions taken by the Party be submitted to the right Party channels for clarification.
