In compliance with the directive of Governor Ikpeazu to all Transition Council Chairmen to ensure that projects started by their predecessors are completed before embarking on new ones as well as for the Commissioner for Special Duties, Joint Projects, Chief John Okoro, and his counterpart in Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sir Gabriel Onyendilefu to monitor and ensure full compliance with the directive, the Abia State Joint Team of Project Supervisors has toured projects in Ikwuano Local Government Area.
Speaking while inspecting one the projects known as Ikwuano Local Government Livestock Farm, Ariam, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Joint Projects, Chief John Okoro and his Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart, Sir Gabriel Onyendilefu said they were in Ikwuano to take stock of the projects undertaken by past T.C Chairmen of the Local Government Council.
They expressed satisfaction with the ongoing projects at Ikwuano LGA noting that the excercise was revealing and would assist the State Government in identifying the state of the projects and encouraged the T. C Chairman to ensure their completion.
The Commissioners, while commending the Ikwuano T. C Chairman for starting on a good note, urged him to make sure the ongoing projects are fully completed before embarking on new ones.
They further assured him that the State Government’s readiness to fastrack any projects the Council would embark upon in future.
Conducting the Team round some projects, the Transition Council Chairman, Ikwuano Local Government Area, Barr. Stanley Ojigbo lauded the idea of monitoring the ongoing projects in the Council describing it as a good concept by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Barr. Ojigbo assured that he would replicate various programmes of Governor Ikpeazu in Ikwuano.
He used the opportunity to inform that Ikwuano LGA wass facing serious erosion challenges and bad road network and expressed the hope that Government would tackle them head-on to enable the people, who he described as the food basket of the State to have access roads to produce more for the State.
