ABIA TAKES THE WELFARE OF PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED AS TOP PRIORITY; DISTRIBUTES MOBILITY AIDS.

Good leadership entails bringing people of different class on platforms where they can realize and exercise their innate potentials and operate optimally to contribute their quota to Nation building as well. 
This has been the model of the Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu who in different fora has described the publicly perceived “physically challenged” people as an “integral part of our society” and maintained that the issues bothering on the physically challenged persons cannot be treated with kids gloves. 
The governor maintains that a keen sense of honour turns every privation into a joy, thus rolled out different empowerment programmes for these ones to douse their agoraphobics to rather become people of trust and honour to be reckoned with.
One of such programmes is the provision of mobility aids to these important men and women in our society. The governor had on one of his trips to the USA late last year procured some special mobility aid known as PERSONAL ENERGY TRANSPORTATION.
Today, the equipment has arrived the office of the wife of the governor for onward distribution to teeming beneficiaries. 
While handing over one of the equipment to one of the physically challenged Abian, Mr. Enyinnaya who is heavy with pregnancy, Dr. Nwanyioma Suzzy who represented the wife of the governor at the occasion informed the woman who came with her husband that the First Lady through her pet project, THE VICAR HOPE FOUNDATION will ensure that she gets proper medical care at a good hospital in the state while the foundation will foot the bills. 
Receiving the mobility aid, Mrs. Enyinnaya expressed delight and thanked the wife of the governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu for remembering her and the rest of physically challenged persons in Abia. The lady who is almost due for delivery, recounted earlier that she lost her first pregnancy at an advanced stage because of the stress of movement and expressed hope that the equipment will help her enormously on mobility purposes. 
Most cheering is that the other several machines, materials and equipment which the office of the wife of the governor is distributing to Abians are produced in Aba. 
Mrs Ikpeazu had earlier expressed her resolve to use her office and her foundation to reach out to as many physically challenged Abians as possible. This is in addition to the various schemes of empowerment available to Abia women. The drive of the wife of the governor is rub off on her passion in issues affecting the girl-child and common diseases that ravage women such as the fistula, maternal mortality and others.
