Abia State government has been described as the only State in the entire South east that maintains 3 grade “A” contractors to build roads. The State focal person on social investment Mr. Chinenye Nwaogu stated this during an interaction with the PDP leaders of his ward, Isiala Nsulu ward 3, Mbawsi in Isialangwa North LGA.

Mr. Nwaogu however stated that amongst other notable contractors, Abia remains the only Southeastern state that the likes of Setraco, Arab Contractors, China Zhonghao are building and reconstructing their roads to ensure high quality with evidence @ Aba road Umuahia, Faulks Road in Aba and other areas.
He also noted that one of the pioneer companies that introduced cement pavement technology in Nigeria is also on site in Abia.
Mr. Nwaogu noted that the government’s concentration on road construction and reconstruction has lured investors who have shown commendable interest in investing in the State and assured that this projection will generate employment for the teeming Abians in the near feature as more companies will inevitably spring up soon.
He also assured them that the Mbawsi road project shall be completed by next year.
He noted and thanked the Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu PhD, who has made a paradigm shift from the conventional politics where promises were only made to high heavens with people pocketing monies meant for projects to now result orientated leadership style and disposition.
The Abia Social investment focal person disclosed that under the leadership of Governor Ikpeazu, he has influenced the inclusion of one of the thirty shoemaker trainees who shall be leaving for China for the automated shoemaking course in weeks from now, facilitated the inclusion of over 90 beneficiaries from GEEP loan with over hundred to receive in the second batch as well as superintended the successful inclusion of over 10 cooks in the free meal school feeding programme and many others in the N-power programme.
He also promised that he will ensure that the ward gets one more electricity transformer while at least one widow will benefit from the magnanimity of the wife of the governor through her housing project for the widows and less privileged and assured them of more government presence in the area in the coming year.
He used the opportunity to thank the Party Leaders for their steadfastness and resilience and encouraged them to bring more persons into the party as they shall reap from its fruits.
He made a cash donation to the party and some other goodies while every widow in the ward was given a piece of wrapper as he encouraged them not to look behind their past and forge ahead for a prosperous tomorrow.
