ALEX OTTI HAS GONE WACKO!
Ferdinand Ekeoma, a Media Aide to Alex Otti went on Facebook yesterday to report that the INEC Office at Isiala Ngwa South was set ablaze. He posted pictures of the inferno but he overreached himself when he pointedly accused the PDP of being behind the incident.
I don’t know in what capacity Ekeoma wrote. I am aware that he is neither the Media Director of the Otti Campaign nor the Publicity Secretary of their party, but in whatever capacity he spoke, the post is a bundle of senseless balderdash designed to appeal to people of abysmally low intelligence quotient.
But we are smart enough to look beyond Ekeoma. We are aware that it’s Otti speaking. He is fond of making unguarded statements. Sadly, this time, Ekeoma became a tool in this macabre dance.
For clarity, let me state categorically that the PDP had no hand in this unfortunate incident. The claim by Alex Otti, through Ekeoma, that members of the PDP are behind this is not only irresponsible, stupid, ill-conceived and misconceived.
The questions they didn’t ask themselves are –
Why would the PDP burn the INEC OFFICE at Isiala Ngwa South?
What is the motive, especially when elections are still some weeks away and INEC is yet to distribute election materials.
The pictures posted by Ferdinand show packs of PVCs, some of which were burnt. Why would any political party set fire on PVCs, few weeks to election? How does that benefit the party?
Whoever went to burn the INEC Office before election and set fire on uncollected PVCs has one motive and one motive only, namely, to frustrate the process of election and stop as many voters as possible from voting. But Ferdinand in his hurry to please his Oga rushed to facebook to accuse the PDP of being behind the incident.
If any political party attacks the INEC Office, won’t they cart away the uncollected PVCs there? Why would they burn the PVCs knowing that it’s a tool to win elections?
Isiala Ngwa South, like all other Ngwa local governments are natural strongholds of the PDP. Alex Otti couldn’t win there in 2015 when he claimed he was from there. He couldn’t win there in 2015 when he had a fair number of top politicians from there in his camp. Is it now that he has openly declared that he is from Arochukwu that he will there? Is it now that top politicians like Chief Damian Ozurumba have left him that he will win there?
Since Ikpeazu came on board, sons of Isiala Ngwa South LGA have assumed top positions in the Abia State Government. They have never has it so good.
The Number Three Citizen of the State and Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kalu is from Isiala Ngwa South. The Commissioner for Finance, Obinna Oriaku is from there. Commissioner for Youths Development, Chief Ike Anyatonwu is from there. The Director General of the Abia State Mass Mobilization Agency, Chief Paddy Anyatonwu whom was until few weeks ago was a core Otti man is from there. The General Manager of ASPIMS, Dr-acb Agbazuere is from there. The first Ngwa Head of Service in Abia State, Sir Onyii Wamah is from there.
Dr. Chris Nwagboso, the Deputy Chief of Staff in the office of the Deputy Governor is also from Isiala Ngwa South LGA. Indeed, he is from Umehim Nvosi, the same village Otti shamelessly clammed to be his.
Elder John Nwangborogwu is also from Isiala Ngwa South. He is the Executive Assistant to the Governor and the Director General of the Abia PDP Central Campaign Council. Barrister St. Moses Ogbonna, the PDP State Organizing Secretary is from there too.
What on earth more can Otti and APGA give to the people of Isiala Ngwa South?
Last week, my brother, Ubani Dannie who is from there organized an earth shaking rally for the PDP which drew 10,000 people under his pro group, The Victorious Team.
What is Alex Otti and APGA offering the people of Isiala Ngwa South that can make them abandon Ikpeazu and these their sons who work with him?
Ikpeazu has built roads in Isiala Ngwa South more than any other previous government.
It is foolishness and outright sophisticated idiocy for anyone to believe that Alex Otti has an upper hand in Isiala Ngwa South or in any part of Ngwaland. That is pure madness.
Finally, I will advise Ferdinand not to get unduly excited to the point that he rushes into conclusions he cannot substantiate when called upon to do so, especially when criminal issues are involved. The fire incident is a serious criminal activity. The Police is yet to come out with any statement apportioning blames to anyone. I am sure the Police and other law enforcement agencies are at work on the incident and will apprehend those who did this. Ferdinand is neither a Police Officer nor a lawyer. He doesn’t understand the nitty gritty of crimes and the principle of mens rea. Criminal acts, investigations and prosecution is way beyond the comprehension of a freelance writer. He should not allow Otti to drag him into something he will regret. If the Police invites him now to come and give more information about what he wrote, he will be surprised how Otti will abandon him.
On our part, we condemn in its totality the act of criminality and we urge the Police and the DSS to unravel the people who are behind this. We believe that the attack was designed to instill fear into the people and discourage them from even coming to vote in the forth coming elections.
Finally, let it be known that Governor Ikpeazu will defeat Alex Otti, not just in Isiala Ngwa South but in the entire UkwaNgwa land. He will also defeat him in the many more parts of the state.
The people of Ngwaland will never prefer a customary tenant to their own son, especially when that customary tenant want to surreptitiously take away their heritage. Nobody will.
Our people will never be punished for the kindness and love our forefathers showed to a man who came from afar and sought refuge in our land.
