Ezinne Queen Elizabeth Osuji was born into the family of John Ukaegbu and Gladys Akuloshie Onumaegbu of Oriemezie in Umuojumu Mbieri in Mbaitolu LGA of Imo State on December 1961. She was the 3rd daughter in a family of nine children and the beloved pearl of their father who gave her the name, Queen.
Ezinne Osuji attended St. Andrew’s Primary School, Port Harcourt in Rivers State for her primary education, from where she proceeded to Federal Government Girl’s College, Sokoto in Sokoto State for her post- primary education.
In her quest for more, she was enrolled in teacher’s training at WTC Umuahia where she was trained as a professional teacher.
Not done yet, Mrs. Osuji later secured admission into the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka for her degree programmme graduating with B.Ed in Guidance and Counseling.
She, as a trained teacher, taught in many different schools both in Abia and Imo States and was later transferred to the State Universal Primary Education Board (SUBEB) as an Evaluation Officer from where she rose to become Head, Ddpartment of Quality Assurance in Owerri Municipal Council.
For marriage, she was spotted Joe Osuji, being an epitome of beauty, and they love grew to bond them together as husband and wife. Their marriage was fruitful as they had four lovely children, two girls and two boys.
Queen was a devour christian who was never found wanting in the service of God.
Most of her time were dedicated to the service of God and humanity. It could literally be said that she never missed any activity in church.
For her dedicated service for God under the Jehovah Jireh Anglican Church, Egbu, she was invested with the title of EZINNE by the church.
Her christian life was full of prayer. Until death, she held unto God, tenaciously.
Queen, as name represented, was like a queen mother to everyone that came across her. She was a lovely and cheerful woman to her husband, children as well as to those who had dealings with her. She was an epitome of philanthropy who never relented in rendering help to the needy and the indigent ones.
Truth be told, she never lived the donkey years that we all would wish but the much she lived was eventful. Her foot prints can never be washed away so soon in the sands of time.
She was charismatic yet modest and full of integrity. She never compromised standard as she would always insist that things were done rightly. In fact, it would not be exaggerating to say that she was the pride of womanhood.
As Ezinne Queen Elizabeth Osuji takes her final bow into the great beyond, we are consoled by the fact that she lived fulfilled, decent, transparent and Godly life, worthy enough to emulate.
Like Paul in 2nd Timothy 4:7-8, Queen had ‘ fought the good fight, finished her course and kept the faith; she only had to go for her ‘Crown of righteousness’ which only God, can give.
Adieu Queen-de-Queen, Adieu Queenito, Adieu Mummy-De-Mummy! as we all wait for reunion on the resurrection morning.
