CONSTITUENCY PROJECT: NKOLE COMMISSIONS DISTRIBUTION OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO PRIMARY SCHOOLS (See photos)
The member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole has commissioned the distribution of educational/instructional materials to all the public primary schools in his Constituency.
The gesture, which is part of his 2020 Constituency Project, saw the equipping of the over 186 schools in his Constituency with modern teaching and learning materials such as school desks, notebooks, pen, pency
White board and Makers, Mathematical sets, chairs and tables for teachers, complete set of drum for early morning parade as well as power generating sets.
Speaking at Abia Community School, Abia Ohafia, HON. UKO NKOLE, he embarked on the project because of his strong believe in Education as the only way to sustainable development and a way to empowering the young ones.
He noted that every investment in the rural community is worth it and disclosed that he had earlier paid the fee for FSLC for all the indigent pupils in his community.
While noting that providing those materials to help cushion the effects of hardship on indigent parents, Nkole charged the management of the school to use them as a reference point for academic competition for the pupils.
He called on the youths to join hands with Community vigilante to protect the materials against vandalism promising to look into the request of the Head Mistress
The Lawmaker, who used the opportunity to call for the employment of more teachers, assured that he would continue to push through UBEC for the Federal Government to intervene in the rebuilding of dilapidated structures in the schools.
In her welcome address, the Head Mistress of Abia Community School, Ohafia, Mrs Precious Eke, thanked Hon. Nkole for the gesture, pointing out that his love for education and children spurred him to embark on the projects.
Mrs Eke who observed that the gesture will increase the moral of teachers and improve the learning interest of children, appealed for the donation of more chairs, increase in the security of the school so as to secure these equipment and renovation of some dilapidated structures in the school.
Earlier while informing the traditional ruler of Abia Ohafia Community, Ezeogo Amah Ebere, of his visit to his palace, Hon Nkole, who promised to make his representation visibly felt by members of his Constituency.
He disclosed that he embarked on the project after meeting with the whole teachers under his Constituency who listed all the needs of the school adding that all have been provided and ready for distribution.
Responding, Ezeogo Amah Ebere thanked the Lawmaker for his good deeds over the course of his representation at the National Assembly and urged him not to relent in his avowed quest to make life easier for his constituents.
On his part, the President General of Abia Ohafia Community, Elder Nduka Okorie, who was full praises for Uko Nkole, pleaded for support of the Lawmaker to enable them replant the school playground.
ABIA ONLINE reports that highlights of the visit was the adoption of Hon. Uko Nkole into the indigineship of Abia Ohafia Community by Ezeogo Amah Ebere while the Lawmaker distributed notebooks and pens to the pupils.
