CORONAVIRUS: NKECHI IKPEAZU DONATES TO DESTITUTE HOMES IN ABIA STARE
The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu has joined in the donation of relief materials to indigent Abians with her donations of food items, hand sanitizers and face mask to the motherless and destitute homes in the State.
The beneficiaries of these palliative are Motherless Babies Home and Leprosy Centre, Uzuakoli, Amaudo Itumbauzo Destitute Home, Agape Motherless Home, Daughters of Merry mMtherless Home Ahiaeke, Joy Rita Motherless Mome Osisioma, Seventh Day Adventist motherless home Aba, Holy Trinity Orphanage and Care Home, Ukwa, Father Basil Motherless Home, Aba and Princess Motherless Home, Aba.
Speaking while handing over the items, Mrs. Ikpeazu, who was represented by the state PDP Publicity Secretary, Chief Mrs. Love Ezema and the wife of the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mrs. Ndidi Cosmos, said that these palliatives came to compliment what Governor Ikpeazu is already doing to relief Abians in the face of the lockdown as well as to ensure that no one is left behind.
Responding, the head of the Methodist Motherless Babies Home Uzuakoli and the Uzuakoli leprosy centre the Reverend JC Opara, and the nurse in charge, SDA motherless home Aba, Mrs. Joyce Chibuike said that they were not surprised over the gesture extended to all the care homes in the State because the Governor’s wife has always been supportive of them.
They advised all to be be proactive in adhering to government and health professionals directives on how to avoid being infected and spread of the virus.
Recall that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu over the week instructed the committee on covid-19 to distribute foodstuffs, face mask and hand sanitizers as palliative measures to combat the pandemic.
