The free JAMB registration, Project 1500+ undertaken by the Each One Aid One Foundation in all the 17 LGAs in Abia State has been concluded with over 1500 indigent students captured in the process.
Speaking at the event to make the end of the project, the Transition Committee Chairman of Osisioma Ngwa LGA, Hon. Dr. Ikechukwu Nwabeke applauded the effort of the Foundation and the Founder Sir, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor for keying into the educational empowerment policy of his administration and has always been in the vanguard for educational development of the youths in the State.
Dr. Nwabeke, who noted that what Engr. Nwafor is doing is what many in his capacity could not do also congratulated him on his recent investiture as a knight of the Anglican Communion, describing the honour as well-deserved.
The TC Chairman used the opportunity to reel out his achievements in the first five weeks in office to include graded of about 28 rural roads, roofing an auditorium, started by his predecessor while the plastering is ongoing, commissioning NULGE Secretariat, laying of foundation for 8 room convenient system in the Local Government, withdrawal of an existing and fake revenue receipt and replacing same with new which he said has shoot up the revenue generation of the Local Government, among other accomplishments.
He explained that his administration has cleared the Local Government of roadside traders by relocating them to a more convenient place, adding that he has equally established a more robust and peaceful coexistence with security Agencies thereby reducing the issue of kidnapping in the Council.
Earlier, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Mrs. Freda Oluchi Uwa, while disclosing that the Foundation exceeded the target of registering 1500 candidates, however added that she has no regrets so far as it was able to capture more of the indigent students who are in dare need of assistance.
Many beneficiaries of the project who spoke to ABIA ONLINE including some parents who accompanied their children and wards, expressed appreciation to Each One Aid One Foundation for coming to their aid in realizing their children education dreams.
