EZE IKONNE COMMENDS GOV. IKPEAZU OVER FAULKS, OSUSU, ABA-OWERRI ROADS OTHERS
The foremost traditional ruler in Aba, Abia state, His Imperial Majesty, Eze Dr. Isaac Ajonu Ikonne has commended the Abia Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for the construction of roads across the three senatorial zones in the state.
The Enyi 1 of Aba who stated this today in his palace disclosed that shoe-making in Aba has been given a boost and rated grade one in Nigeria, courtesy of Gov. Ikpeazu’s Made-in-Aba campaigns.
Fielding questions from newsmen, Eze Ikonne described Aba as the commercial hub of the state with greater potential for more economic growth, urging Gov. Ikpeazu to focus more of his rehabilitation/developmental strides in Ariaria International Market, Cemetery Market, Abia Ohuru Market among others, to enhance the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
“I call on aggrieved Abians to sheath their swords and support Gov. Ikpeazu developmental strides. Gov. Ikpeazu should also ensure that the remaining three years left in his second tenure be used to complete all the major projects of his administration”, he advised.
He further called for an improved welfare package for traditional rulers, while maintaining that Gov. Ikpeazu’s survival from COVID-19 was an answer to the prayers of traditional rulers in the state.
The nonegenerian who thanked God for 50 years he has stayed on the throne, further expressed joy over the recently commissioned Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory for COVID-19 management in Aba, describing it as well deserved.
