Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led administration has been applauded by the people of Umunneochi Local Government Area for the numerous intervention projects in the council including the renovation of the Nneato Bridge.
Governor Ikpeazu’s impact in the area has continued to draw extensive praise from a cross-section of Umunneochi locals, both at home and abroad, who have called the development historic, and a sign of the governor’s love for the people of the area.
The latest commendation and show of appreciation came from a delegation of the leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in Umunneochi LGA who paid a solidarity visit to Gov Ikpeazu at his Country Home in Umuobiakwa, Obingwa LGA.
Speaking through one of its leading representatives, Chief Ndidi Okereke commended the governor for graciously making a landmark impact and a legacy for posterity through numerous intervention projects in the council including the power projects in Nneato and Isuochi, the Isuochi Achara Road, and the multi-million erosion remediation project in their region.
However, the group expressed dismay at the state of the Obulo Nneato road as well as the Ndeawa – Obinulo- Orie Ngodo Road and therefore called for its rehabilitation.
Also speaking, the Member representing Umunneochi State Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon Barrister Okey Igwe reminded the Governor that the whole PDP family in the council stands strongly with him and will support his choice of a successor in 2023, without hesitation.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu expressed his gratitude for the continued support he and his government have gotten from the people of Umunneochi and stated that he will remain steadfast in his pursuit of matters that have a beneficial impact on their well-being.
He informed the group that he will revisit several local projects in the area to see which ones could be started and completed before he leaves office in May of next year.
The governor challenged the party leaders to work hard in building the Party in the area.
On the issue of security, Gov Ikpeazu gave his word that he will provide further support to the Local Government Chairman to address these issues using local remedies.
Earlier, the Umunneochi Council’s Executive Chairman, Hon Ifeanyi Madu, praised Gov. Ikpeazu for always listening and responding when he requests additional security assistance against herdsmen in the area.
