GOVERNMENT ORDERS ALL MOTOR PARKS WITHIN ISI-GATE AND ITS ENVIRONS TO LEAVE

Following the successfull removal of traders at ISI Gate umuahia, the State Government has ordered all motor parks within Isi-gate and its environs to leave with immediate effect noting that loading of any kind would encourage street trading.

In a release signed by the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Rt. Hon. Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe directs all those loading for Ubani Market and other areas to move to Ossah road by umuagu side.

According to the release, “Ossah road by Umuagu/ Military Checkpoint near Ezumezu Event Centre is now the center point where Keke and buses going to Ubani Market will converge, while Ossah road by Uwalaka street will serve as keke loading bay for all those travelling to Aba, Owerri, Lagos. The idea is to end touting at Isi gate any violation will attract severe sanctions.”

The statement further advised Landlords and house owners to note that all the residential buildings converted to shops would face demolition if they refuse to revert back to the original building plan.

Dr Ndukwe also stated that, “Those selling households equipment, clothes, shoes, wholesalers of any kind of product etc at Orieugba Market should please move to Ubani market. Orie ugba Market is only ment to serve as a relief market for perishable goods.

The Ministry of Trade and Investment will enforce these directives without further notice to those concerned, plans are under way to give further non payment relief to all those parking in Ubani for a period not less than 6 months,” The statement said.
