The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has called for patronage of Golden Guinea products to enable the company to stay in business on this second coming.
Speaking while receiving the rejuvenated Golden Guinea drinks from the management of Golden Guinea Breweries, at Government House, Umuahia, the Governor expressed happiness that the revitalization of the company is happening in his time as the governor of the State noting that Golden Guinea is not only synonymous with Abia State but also with Ndi Igbo as a whole.
Dr. Ikpeazu who assured the management of the company of his administration’s support to ensure that the second coming of the company would be sustained urged them not to hesitate to solicit any assistance necessary from the government.
He congratulated the management team led by its chairman, Chief Okey Nzenwa for the feat achieved in bringing the company back into operation and expressed the hope that it would have great impact on the economy of Umuahia as its host community and Abia State at large pointing out that the value chain of employment to be generated by the return of Golden Guinea would be massive.
Earlier, the Chairman, Golden Guinea Breweries, Chief Okey Nzenwa, said the team came to present the drinks produced after fifteen years the company stopped production to the Governor in appreciation of his unquantifiable support at ensuring the return of the company. He announced that the product is already being favourably received in the market.
Chief Ezenwa further thanked the Governor for his encouragement to the company and requested him to fix a date for the official launch of the return of Golden Guinea in Umuahia.
