GOVERNOR IKPEAZU COMMENDS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ARMY, OTHER SECURITY AGENCIES
Abia Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has commended the relationship existing between the Nigerian Army, other security agencies and the State, saying that it has led to adequate security in the State.
Governor Ikpeazu made the commendation while welcoming the new General Officer Commanding, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu, Major General Sadiq Maikobi, who came on courtesy visit to Government House, Umuahia. He said the Nigerian Army assisted the State greatly in the dark days when kidnappers held sway in Abia State.
The Governor, who requested for continual support for the Nigerian Army in the promotion of peace and order in the State assured the G.O.C of a good stay in the South East.
Speaking earlier, the General officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army Enugu, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Maikobi said he is in government House to present himself to the Governor as a new G .O .C .
He said the Army has started Operation Python Dance 3 in the entire South East and would discharge their duties professionally. The G. O. C added that the python dance is not targeted at individuals or groups but criminals.
