In line with his desire to continue to make the traders of Ariaria International Market comfortable and bring about ease of business, the Abia Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu attracted the Ariaria electric power project.
This, the Governor in conjunction with Federal government through Rural Electrification Agency via Public Private Partnership, has provided electric power to the traders of Ariaria International Market.
It is the Governor’s intense campaign for Made-in-Aba patronage and his good relationship with the authorities at the Federal level that has brought about the project and other goodies from federal level, especially through the Office of the Vice President.
In spite of the party differences, Governor Ikpeazu has penetrated and is still penetrating with his avowed commitment to ensure economic development in the State.
So far, about 37,000 shops are going to benefit from the first phase of the electrification. The electricity plant is uninterrupted and has Customer Services where users go for enquiries and complaints. Each shop has its own meter, whatever used is what is paid and its cheaper
On their own, the traders in Ariaria, who are beneficiaries of the light are full of praises to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the Federal government for the initiation.
They, users, confessed that they have never seen it so good as they now see it under Governor Ikpeazu’s administration.
According to the traders, the light lasts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. No wonder, the steady light in Ariaria would make people to be more innovative and make more profits in businesses as well as contribute greatly to the economic growth of Aba and Abia State entirely.
If the Governor, who has no shop in Ariaria could be so magnanimous to the traders and still plans more beautiful things for them, apart from access road within three years in office, by the time he is reelected, the people would certainly rejoice the more.
