Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has described his late mother-in-law, Mrs. Jemimah Nwachi Nwakanma as a pillar of strength and a woman, who was full of compassion.

The Governor was speaking during the burial ceremony of his mother in law late Mama Jemimah Nwachi Nwakanma, at Umuorji, Ohanze in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State. Dr. Ikpeazu described the demise of Mama Nwakanma as
a close of a very important chapter in the annals of humanity, noting that she was a brilliant professional, who lived an exemplary life style.
Governor Ikpeazu, who queried what could be done to death, however expressed hope that Mama Nwakanma would be seen again at the resurrection morning, saying that they have taken heart on the fact that she left legacies of good live style behind.
In her speech, the Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, commiserated with the Wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, urging her to take heart.
Mrs. Buhari, represented by the Deputy National Women’s Leader of APC. Mrs Tina Abike appreciated the fact that Mama Nwakanma contributed greatly to the society and trained her children well, who now occupy exalted positions in the society and called on all affected by the death to bear it with fortitude.
Also speaking, the Chairperson, Southern Governors’ Wives Forum , Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha identified with Mrs. Ikpeazu and urged her to take heart on the fact that Mama Jemimah Nwakanma lived a good life.
She enjoined the bereaved not to mourn as those who have no hope but be consoled by the exemplary lives she lived and the lives she touched.
In a biography read read by the grand children of the deceased, late Mama Jemimah Nwakanma was described as a lovely mother with sterling qualities.
They identified the fact that she kept the family intact even after the death of the husband.
They informed that Mama Nwakanma was a well-trained Nurse and Midwife, who used her profession to save many lives adding that they would missed her so much.
In his message, Pastor (Dr) Bassey Udoh, the President, Eastern Nigerian Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church charged people to obey God in all circumstances.
Pastor Udoh who preached on the topic “where are you?” noted that the question was a question of character and destiny as there are two destinations after life; heaven and hell. He said everybody should ask himself about where he is now and where he would be at the end this life and stressed the need for all to repent of their sins.
