NKOLE ATTRACTS SONGHAI FARMS TO ABIA STATE

On the side of the agrarian policy drive of the Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu led administration in Abia State, the member representating, Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole has attracted the integrated farm giant SONGHAI FARMS to Abia state.

Songhai Farms team on an inspection visit round the area mapped out for the pilot farm project on Thursday, disclosed that he took the initiative of bringing the farm giants to his State through the House Committee on Water Resources, because of the many benefits of a Songhai Farm project.

The Abia Lawmaker, popularly called “Mr. Project”, noted that the integrated farm project has the capacity of employing over 100,000 Abians when in full operation.

Also speaking, the Project team said Abia was chosen among other states because of its existing favourable framework already laid down through it’s government policies on Agriculture.

The Federal Government’s team was led by Engr. Gerald Osuagwu, Managing Director in a Parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources while the team from Abia State Government was led by the theject Manager, Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), Chief Israel Amanze. The teams from the Federal and Abia State Government are the relevant stakeholders required for the establishment of the Songhai Farms project.

The project execution is expected to take off immediately.
