Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu says he is particularly excited to have made history and have so become part of history by becoming the first and only Governor to construct the Abiriba – Nkporo Road.
The Governor said the narrative by one of those present at the commissioning of the road explaining how past leaders right from the time of the Old Eastern Region had tried to achieve this but could not excited him the most.
The narrative according to him confirmed that ‘since the creation of the world, there had been no such road to Nkporo and have made him become part of history.
“No matter what people may write on social media, the Nkporo man and woman will admit that Okezuo ‘efesala’ Nkporo,” Ikpeazu wrote in a series of tweets.
The Governor emphasized that it was not just about road construction for publicity sake, if it was, he said, ‘we would not have engaged a Grade A contractor like Bulletine Construction Company to achieve this rare feat.’
He maintained that he was determined ‘to keep breaking jinxes in the infrastructural development of Abia, insisting that: “We broke the jinx with Okon Bridge; we also broke the jinx with Ifeaobara pond and Ama Ikonne along Faulks Road. Beyond breaking jinxes, we’ll continue to provide dividends of democracy to our people,” he noted.
The Abia State helmsman declared that, with Osisioma flyover, Ngwa Rd, Ohanku Rd, Obohia Road, all loading; it has now become a habit for his administration to break all the jinxes one can think of in Abia.
“We will keep working for the socioeconomic advancement of our people through massive investment in their welfare by providing the necessary Infrastructural facilities needed to achieve this,” Governor Ikpeazu wrote.
