Roads are inarguably the most popular and preferred mode of transport in Nigeria, nay Abia state. As such, there is no doubt that delapidated roads will greatly hamper the movement of persons and militate against commercial activities. In truism, there is correlation between economic prosperity and general state of infrastructure as good social amenities creates, as well engenders safe and conducive haven for investments. Therefore, a state of deterioration of roads pose a big concomitants to that drive. Among the numerous roads project embarked by Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu’s administration, one road is very significant both to Enyimba, the economic hub of Abians and the generality of Abia electorate. Port Harcourt road is a federal government aclaimed road but the daily gruesome experiences of Abians occasioned by years of collapse and abandonment of the road is one that gives a responsive government such as ours sleepless night. The road is the home of iron fabrications, different crafts and other mechanical fabrications and therefore, cardinal to the local content production mantra of the present government. It is a thing of great joy that Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu have engraved his name in the heart of Abia masses and the generality of Nigerians who have found a home in Abia, by embarking on such a multi-billion Naira project of the reconstruction of the Port Harcourt road, Aba. It is also evident that occupants of the seat of power in umuahia has a listening ear to the cries of her citizens. The Port Harcourt expressway, when completed will serve as a priority to further deepen industrialization of Abia as it is anticipated that more related industrial concerns will sprout in the Aba area. It is also heartwarming, that the present administration of Governor Ikpeazu, in addition to the commercialized Abia State is repositioning Aba as a tourist spot as feeders has it that the road is proposed six lane highway. Assuredly, there is no contention to reality that Aba will in no distant time serve as a preferred venue for both national and international conference. Port Harcourt road reconstruction incontrovertibly, is a prayer answered and therefore, when completed will further endear the masses to the pro-people government of Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and enhance the commercial fortunes of Aba which will translate to greater prosperity for Abia and her citizens. While Port Harcourt road will be ongoing alongside many other capital projects, reconstruction of others like Omuma, Ohanku, Ngwa roads, routes to the 6 markets in Aba will kick off soon. Let us also bear in mind that the rebuilding of Aba cannot be done in one fell swoop.
#Let’s keep faith with Abia.
