The leadership and members of Ngwa Patriots Forum, an umbrella body of well meaning Ngwa people in Nigeria and abroad, have congratulated Dr Okezie Ikpeazu on the recent reaffirmation of his electoral victory as the qualified and duly elected Governor of Abia state by the Supreme Court of Nigeria for a record second time.
Speaking during a solidarity visit to the Governor at Govt Lodge Aba, the President of the Forum, Chief Okey Ahiwe, urged the Governor to remain focused on his giant strides in less than two years in office in spite of the unnecessary litigations and parochial distractions by a few persons who did not realise on time that his mandate was divine, timely and fair in compliance with the Abia Charter of Equity.
The Forum maintained that her long standing support for Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is well placed and obviously vindicated in the way and manner he has carried all Abians along in delivering the dividends of democracy and urged him to keep it up knowing fully well that this will stand him in good stead with posterity whenever he has served out his constitutional guaranteed tenures as Governor of Abia State.
In his response, Governor Ikpeazu re-emphasised that his victory after all the travails is dedicated to God and for the benefit of the entire Abia state. He therefore implored everyone, including opposition voices to rally round him as he fires on with good governance streak for Abia state.
Among the dignitaries with the Governor to receive members of Ngwa Patriots were the former Deputy Governor of the State Rt Hon. Acho Nwakanma, Commissioner for Works Hon. Eziuche Ubani, Commissioner for Sports Hon Chinwe Nwanganga, some Special Advisers to the Governor, LGA chairmen, traditional rulers and other political leaders.
