The Super Eagles ended 2018 as number 44 in the latest FIFA world ranking released on Thursday.
The three-time African champions maintained the fourth spot in Africa.
The Teranga Lions of Senegal maintain their number one spot in the continent. Tunisia and Morocco are second and third respectively.
Senegal and Tunisia are ranked 23rd and 26th respectively in the world.
Belgium also maintained its number one spot in the world.
The top 10 teams in the world are Belgium (1), France (2), Brazil (3), Croatia (4), England (5), Portugal (6), Uruguay (7), Switzerland (8), Spain (9), and Denmark (10).
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola world ranking will be published on February 7, 2019.
