ABIA GUBER 2023: ISIALA NGWA NORTH DRUM SUPPORT FOR PROF IKONNE
A leading governorship hopeful, Prof Uche Ikonne has been regarded as an extraordinary and dependable leader whom Abia State will be fortunate to have as its governor come 2023.
Prof Ikonne who served as the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University, Uturu, has also been identified as someone with a wealth of experience in the education and public sectors, which qualifies him for higher responsibility in Abia State.
These were the remarks made by delegates and Party Excos under the aegis of the People’s Democratic Party in Isiala Ngwa North, during a consultative forum from Prof Ikonne.
Delegates at the event were the Hon. Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Rt. Hon C. O. Enwerenmadu, the LGA Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Isiala Ngwa North, Elder Sam Esindu, and the Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa North, Elder Chinwendu Ochulor, and LGA Women Leader of the party, Lady Ikonne.
They all affirmed their support for the implementation of Prof Ikonne’s vision for Abia state, reassuring him that the delegates’ votes in the council’s primaries would be 100 percent in his favour.
“We’ve done our homework and know who to support in the governorship election in Abia State in 2023.”
Ikonne asked the people to judge him and other aspirants based on their track records, not from baseless feelings espoused by naysayers.
While commending Gov Okezie Ikpeazu for establishing a strong platform for his successor to succeed, Prof Ikonne urged the people to be focused and resolute in their pursuit of excellence as Abia is a work in progress.
The PDP governorship candidate, therefore, appealed for everyone’s support to realise his ambition, promising that his administration will come up with policies and programmes that will allow the party hierarchy to checkmate the government in power.
