Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEPA Aba zone has announced one month impoundment of any bus, truck or tricycle caught dumping refuse in an unothorized places or throw refuse out while driving on the roads and streets of Aba zone.
The Deputy General Manager ASEPA Aba zone, Chief Rowland Nwakanma made the announcement after arresting a commercial tricycle operator who dumped refuse at Azikiwe road Aba.
Chief Nwakanma who expressed displeasure over the incessant dumping of refuse at unothorized places in Aba and litering of waste on the streets disclosed that both occupants of the culprit vehicle and the driver will be arrested and prosecuted at the mobile sanitation court.
He made it clear that the Agency will invoke all State relevant laws against unauthorized refuse dumping and environmental cleanliness having given the people of the zone enough time to change their wrong attitudes towards environmental cleanliness.
