As part of their efforts to validate the profound infrastructural strides recorded by the Ikpeazu’s administration in the last six years, the special Advisers to the Governor of Abia state under the auspices of OVI body of Advisers have embarked on a state wide project tour to affirm that the projects claimed to have been executed by Governor Ikpeazu are verifiable and valid.
Beginning with the Osokwa -Umuejea -Obikabia road, the body of Advisers led by Hon. Collins Nwakanma observed that the road which bypasses the busy Osisioma, Aba Owerri road is a veritable alternative into Aba for road users going in and out of Enugu, Ebonyi ,Imo and some parts of Abia state. He stated that the Governor by constructing such an economically viable road has shown that he has the interest of his people at heart.
Also responding to questions by news men , a road user and a trader at the Enugu Portharcourt end of the road Osokwa road, testifies that the road has contributed immensely to their wellbeing in terms of daily turnover and access to the markets , confessing that the community have not benefitted this much from the dividends of democracy before the Advent of the rebuilder , Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Phd..On the quality of the road, Engr. Owo Eleke the special Adviser on Project monitoring attests that the quality of the road will stand the text of time . He commended the Governor for investing in quality raod infrastructure.
Commenting after inspecting the Umuene – Obikabia road ( the Isiala Ngwa South axis), Elder Kennedy Onyenma an indigene of Isiala Ngwa South and the Special Adviser on Documentation informed that the Umueñe- Obikabia road connects four local government areas in Abia state namely Isiala Ngwa South and North , Osisioma and Obingwa LGA respectively, stressing that the road has contributed to the ease of doing business and has immensely uplifted the standard of life of the people as indigenes of the communities have taken to different businesses and vocations thereby leveraging on the economic imports of the road to better their lives .He therefore thanked the Executive Governor of Abia state and the great Rebuilder , Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu for championing such critical Infrastructural turn around in the state .
Speaking on the quality of the road, the Special Adviser on Projects monitoring, Engr Owo Eleke maintained that the quality of the road is standard and meets global best practices in terms of durability and quality . Stressing that Governor Ikpeazu’s eye for quality is enviable.
Corroborating the obversations of the Advisers, who were visibly elated by the long stretch of road and improved business activities in the area, a motorcyclist and native of Omoba who plies the road daily agrees that the road has positively affected their lives immesurably as never in history have they dreamt of enjoying such a smooth road that cris- crosses various communities within the local government area and others and on a record time too.
In continuation of the inspection tour, the team stopped over at the ongoing Nbawsi -Umuala- Ururuka road. Responding to questions from newmen Mr Chinenye Nwaogu an indigene of Nbawsi and the Adviser on Youth development, informed that the road is the longest road in Isiala Ngwa North, stretching from Nbawsi to Umuala and connecting the Ururuka road ,on one hand and Ntigha pH – Enugu express road on the other hand. Adding that traders and rural farmers will easily move their produce from one end of the community to another. He Thanked the Governor for his landmark infrastructural achievements in Abia state. Maintaining that there is hardly any community in Abia state without a stamp of Ikpeazu’s giant strides whether in infrastructure or social investment. Nwogu further stressed that Abians must rally round Governor Ikpeazu and the PDP government to ensure that the party clinches all electoral seats come 2023. The team was later treated to a refreshment at the Nbawsi residence of Mr Nwogu.
In his vote of thanks , Chief Mascot Imo Obike who doubles as the Secretary of the body thanked every one for coming out enmasse for the tour, maintaining that the tour is very important as it affords the Advsers, who are regarded as ” the human bank of the Governor”, the opportunity to testify to the good works being engendered by the Governor of Abia State , Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. The tour, which is led by the Chairman Mr Collins Nwakanma has in attendance Dr Mrs Ngozi Erondu- Ogbonna, DG Abia diaspora commission and other special Advisers,will take the Advicers round the three geo- political zones of Abia state, Abia Central, Abia North and South. .
