Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says the Nigerian Police is seen as an enabler to to drive the nation’s economy. The Governor said this while receiving in audience, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris in Government House, Umuahia.
Governor Ikpeazu thanked the Police for their efforts in maintaining peace in the State and stressed that there is no limit to what the Police can do to ensure Nigeria is secured and commiserated with the Police over the demise of one of its officers in the recent crises in the State. He said that there is need to secure Nigerians who go to farm and even investors.
Dr. Ikpeazu used the opportunity to present the IGP with ‘made in Aba’ shoes
Speaking earlier, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris said he was in the State to sympathize with Abia State over the unfortunate incident that happened recently.
He appreciated the efforts of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in handling the recent disturbances in the State. The IGP thanked the Governor for his continuous support and assistance to the Police in the State and assured that the Police will continue to ensure the security is maintained.
The IGP later held an interactive section with the Traditional Rulers, Hausa and Yoruba communities in the State as well as the National Association of Nigerian Students.
