Abia State Governor and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD has directed Transition Committee Chairmen of the 17 Local Government Areas in the state to work in synergy with the Local Govérnment Party Chairmen and stakeholders to achieve a hitch free party primaries in the forthcoming Local Government elections in the State.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. A. C. B. Agbazuere, conveyed the Governor’s message in a statement made available to newsmen.
The statement also directed the Transition Committee chairmen to hold security meetings and leverage on same as no iota of security breach will be tolerated.
“All aspirants, their agents, supporters and all party men and women are enjoined, in their own interest, to refrain from any act capable of threatening the peace of the state,” the Governor said.
“Party primary is a family affair and must be seen as such by all.”
ABIA ONLINE gathered that the PDP party primaries for aspiring councillors will hold on Tuesday 10th November, 2020 while that of Chairmen takes place on Thursday 12th November 2020 in the state.
